Friendswood Man Sentenced to Life for Father’s Murder

Luke Michael Starling, 20, has been sentenced to life in prison by a Galveston County Jury for the murder of his father, Christopher Starling, which occurred in September 2022.

The Friendswood Police Department made the arrest after Christopher Starling’s remains were discovered in his home on the 400 block of Oak Vista Drive in Friendswood. Following investigations, authorities collaborated with the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office to pursue justice in the case.

Luke Starling was 18 years old at the time of the murder. He was taken into custody on the evening of September 19, 2022, and booked into the Galveston County Jail. Prior to his arrest, Starling was apprehended around 7:30 pm on September 16, 2022, near Hwy 190 in Lampasas County for an unrelated charge of Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, issued out of Harris County. Subsequently, he was transported to the Galveston County Jail where he faced charges of Murder.
