SUGAR LAND, TX – Sugar Land police are investigating an aggravated robbery at a CVS pharmacy in the Greatwood area that led to multiple arrests and a dramatic escape attempt later the same day.

The robbery occurred around 1:56 a.m. Sunday at the CVS located at 1410 Crabb River Road. Police say four suspects entered the store and physically assaulted a clerk before fleeing with a bag of cash. The clerk suffered minor injuries and did not require hospital transport.

Houston Police were notified shortly after the robbery, and a pursuit followed. One suspect was initially apprehended, and through coordinated efforts between Houston Police and the Sugar Land Police Department, all four suspects were taken into custody. The investigation remained ongoing as charges were being finalized.

Later Sunday afternoon, the incident escalated. At approximately 4:50 p.m., an SLPD jailer went to check on one of the suspects when the jailer was assaulted after opening a cell door. During the confrontation, the suspect managed to release the other three detainees, and all four escaped custody.

Police launched an immediate search, and at about 6:20 p.m., officers located all four suspects and took them back into custody without further incident. The injured jailer was transported to a hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities identified the suspects as 19-year-old Edmound Guillory, 18-year-old Devontae Simon, and two juveniles, 17-year-old Desean Dillard and 17-year-old Clayton Johnson.

In addition to aggravated robbery charges related to the CVS incident, the suspects now face additional charges ranging from escape to attempted murder. The case remains under investigation as detectives continue to review evidence and determine any further charges.
