Fort Worth Man Arrested After Attacking Mother with Machete

A Fort Worth man is in custody after allegedly attacking his mother with a machete on Thursday morning, according to police. The victim is currently receiving medical treatment for her injuries.

Officers responded to a domestic violence call in the 3000 block of Elsinor Drive in the Western Hills North area at 11:10 a.m. and discovered that a man had seriously injured his mother with a machete.

Police reported that the suspect fled the scene but later appeared at a neighbor’s residence. Fearing for his safety, the neighbor fired a shot at the man, which missed. The suspect was apprehended shortly thereafter.

Isaac Roberts, 21, who was booked into the Fort Worth PD Detention Facility at 2 p.m. Friday. Roberts is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and burglary of a habitation.

The victim of the machete attack, whose name has not been released, was transported to a nearby hospital. Police stated her condition was critical but stable.
