Former Fort Bend ISD Teacher Arrested, Charged with Improper Relationship with Student

ara Hernandez, 31, a former teacher at Ronald Thornton Middle School in Fort Bend ISD, was arrested on February 14th and is facing two felony charges: indecency with a child involving sexual contact and an improper relationship between an educator and a student. Her bond has been set at $50,000.

According to Fort Bend ISD, the allegations of past inappropriate conduct by Hernandez were brought to the district’s attention in September by a former student. The district immediately launched an investigation, and Hernandez was removed from the Thornton Middle School campus and placed on administrative leave pending the investigation’s outcome. Fort Bend ISD has stated that Hernandez will not be returning to the district.

In a letter to parents at the school, Fort Bend ISD outlined their immediate actions upon receiving the allegations.
