Fiery Crash Claims Life on Wheatley Street: Houston Police Probe High-Speed Incident
The Houston Police Department is currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 8900 Wheatley Street around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 24.
The victim, a 57-year-old male, lost his life in the incident, and the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is working to verify his identity.
Preliminary reports indicate that the male was driving a red Toyota Avalon at a high rate of speed northbound on Wheatley Street. Unfortunately, he failed to maintain a single lane, resulting in the vehicle leaving the roadway. The Toyota collided with several small trees, a utility pole, and a parked flatbed tractor-trailer bed. Subsequently, the vehicle rolled multiple times and caught fire. The male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
