Father and Son Arrested in Fatal Stabbing at El Paso Party

Two men, identified as Ransford Julian Myers, 24, and Michael Gary Myers, 56, have been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal stabbing and multiple aggravated assaults that occurred during a party in Northeast El Paso on May 11. The incident resulted in the death of 35-year-old Hugo Benitez and injuries to two other men.
On Saturday, May 11, police responded to a report of a shooting and stabbing in the 5300 block of Dalton. Upon arrival, officers located three male subjects who had sustained stab wounds: Hugo Benitez, 31-year-old Rafael De La Rosa, and 36-year-old Raul Barrios, all residents of Northeast El Paso.
Crimes Against Persons Detectives took over the investigation. The initial findings revealed that a party with a live band was taking place at the residence. During the party, Ransford Julian Myers and Michael Gary Myers allegedly entered the property to confront the homeowners about the loud noise. During the ensuing altercation, Benitez, De La Rosa, and Barrios were stabbed.
Two of the three victims, including Benitez, were transported to a local hospital. Sadly, Benitez succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Ransford Julian Myers has been charged with Murder, with Judge Acosta setting his bond at $1,000,000.00. He also faces two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, each with a $750,000.00 bond set by Judge Acosta. Michael Gary Myers has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, with Judge Acosta setting bond at $500,000.00 for each charge. Both individuals have been booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
