Fatal Shooting Under Investigation in South Central Houston

Houston police are currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at 3108 Burkett Street in South Central Houston around 2:50 a.m. today (January 4).

The victim, a 24-year-old man, has not been identified pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The incident was reported when HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a residence on Burkett Street. Upon arrival, they found the victim unresponsive and lying on the driveway, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced the man deceased.

As of now, authorities have not determined a motive for the shooting, and there is no available suspect description.
