Fatal Motorcycle Crash on East Freeway Under Investigation

The Houston Police Department is currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Tuesday, November 21, at approximately 2:45 p.m. The incident took place on the 12600 block of East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10).

The victim, a 23-year-old male, has not been officially identified pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. Eyewitnesses reported that a red Kawasaki motorcycle and a blue Suzuki motorcycle were traveling westbound on the freeway at high speeds.

According to reports, the motorcyclists maneuvered between a white box truck and a tractor-trailer truck. Tragically, the Kawasaki collided with the rear of the box truck, resulting in the rider being ejected. The operator of the Suzuki was also ejected from his motorcycle.

Upon the arrival of Houston Fire Department paramedics, the operator of the Kawasaki was pronounced deceased at the scene. The operator of the Suzuki, however, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

The male driver of the white box truck, who stayed at the scene, was found not to be impaired. After being questioned by authorities, he was released.

The investigation is continuing.
