Fatal Hit and Run in Houston: Police Seek Information on Driver

A pedestrian who was critically injured in a crash on January 9 at 9400 Mesa Drive has succumbed to his injuries, according to Houston Police. The victim, a 77-year-old male, was crossing eastbound on Mesa Road when he was struck by a black Chevrolet Tahoe turning southbound onto Mesa from westbound Tidwell around 9:45 a.m.

The victim was transported to Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center, where he fought for his life until Friday, January 26, when he passed away. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is withholding the victim’s identity pending notification to family members.

The driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe fled the scene without providing any assistance. The Houston Police Department is now urging anyone with information about the identity of the wanted driver or details related to the case to come forward.
