Fatal Crash Under Investigation on Airport Boulevard
Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred around 11 p.m. on Monday (June 10) at 2900 Airport Boulevard. The identity of the deceased woman, 29, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
According to HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer L. Fenoglio, a black Kia Optima was traveling northbound on the service road of the South Freeway (South Highway 288) when it struck a white Jeep Liberty traveling eastbound on Airport Boulevard. The impact caused the Jeep to collide with a light pole at the intersection.
The passenger in the Jeep was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. The female driver, 27, of the Jeep and the male driver, 27, of the Kia were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is ongoing.
