Fatal Crash in Mid West Houston Leaves One Dead

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 8400 Westpark Drive in Mid West Houston around 10 a.m. on March 5, 2024.

The identity of the deceased male has not yet been confirmed pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

According to preliminary reports, the driver of a gray Honda Pilot was traveling eastbound on Westpark when he made an unsafe lane change and was struck by a gray Toyota Camry, also traveling eastbound. The collision caused the Honda to collide with a concrete pillar.

The driver of the Honda was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics. Two male passengers who were in the Honda at the time of the crash were transported to an area hospital in critical but stable conditions.

Upon investigation, the driver of the Camry was found not to be impaired. They were questioned by authorities and released.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
