El Paso Woman Dead in Fatal Crash on Loop 375
El Paso Special Traffic Investigation Unit continues to look into the Sunday night crash that resulted in a fatality. This past Sunday, El Paso police were called to Loop 375 South and mile marker 41 to investigate a two-vehicle collision. When officers arrived, they requested the assistance of Special Traffic Investigators due to the severe injuries involved.
The preliminary information revealed 43-year-old Perla Canales of East El Paso was southbound on Loop 375 and, for unknown reasons, came to a complete stop on the interstate. At the same time, 36-year-old Jorge Saucedo of El Paso was merging onto Loop 375 South from the on-ramp of Vista Del Sol when he rear-ended Canales at highway speeds.
Canales was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Saucedo and a 2-year-old child were also transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. The other passenger in Saucedo’s vehicle, 18-year-old Pamela Casas, left the scene while officers were conducting the investigation.
On December 19th, Special Traffic Investigators were notified by the medical examiner’s office that Canales had been pronounced deceased.
