El Paso Woman Arrested After Stealing $70,000 Chevrolet Silverado and Fleeing Accident Scene

On Thursday, August 7, 2025, deputies from the Peter J. Herrera Patrol Station responded to a reported stolen vehicle incident in the 14800 block of Las Colonias Road, El Paso County. A 2021 white Chevrolet Silverado, valued at $70,000, had been taken without the owner’s consent.

About 20 minutes later, deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident involving the stolen Silverado near the intersection of N. Clint-San Elizario Road and Alameda Avenue. The vehicle had fled westbound on Alameda Avenue before deputies arrived, prompting a B.O.L.O. alert to nearby agencies.

The Silverado was later found abandoned in the desert south of Eaton Manor and Flamborough Drive. At approximately 9 p.m., the El Paso Police Department detained 34-year-old Juana Camacho of Tornillo, Texas, matching the suspect’s description.

Camacho admitted to stealing the vehicle and fleeing the accident scene. She was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on charges of Theft of Property between $30,000 and $150,000 and Collision Involving Damage, with bond set at $21,000.
