El Paso Fatal Collision Claims Life of New Mexico Woman Following Disregarded Stop Sign

On December 22nd, 2023, a collision occurred at the 13300 Block of Gateway North / 6700 Edge of Texas, involving a GMC Yukon and a Hyundai Elantra.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a GMC Yukon traveling northbound on Gateway North collided with a Hyundai Elantra driven by 20-year-old Aliyah Chaya Walker of New Mexico. Walker, traveling eastbound on Edge of Texas, reportedly disregarded a stop sign, resulting in a T-Bone collision.

As a consequence of the crash, Walker sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital. Unfortunately, on January 9th, 2024, Walker succumbed to the injuries sustained in the collision.

The primary contributing factor to the incident was reported as the disregard of a stop sign by the driver of the Hyundai Elantra.

The SUV involved in the collision was carrying six individuals, including two adults and four children aged 5 to 12 years old. Five of the occupants were transported to the hospital with injuries.
