El Paso County Arrests Four in Deadly Shooting After Home Invasion

EL PASO, Texas – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has made arrests in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on December 27, 2025, in the 10100 block of Cyan Valley.
The incident began when multiple shots were fired at a residence during a disturbance involving party attendees. Jose Avila, 33, the homeowner, was shot and later died from his injuries.
Investigators determined that four males were involved in the shooting as they left the scene in a vehicle. With assistance from the Texas Rangers, Socorro Police Department, and Socorro ISD Police, deputies identified and charged the suspects:
- David Ramirez, 17 – charged with Disorderly Conduct – Display of a Firearm; bond set at $10,000.
- Gael Quintana, 19 – charged with Tampering with Evidence; bond set at $10,000.
- Juvenile, 16 – charged with Murder and Aggravated Assault (Mass Shooting).
- Juvenile, 15 – charged with Murder and Aggravated Assault (Mass Shooting).
Sheriff Oscar Ugarte praised the cooperation among local, state, and school district law enforcement agencies and emphasized that the focus remains on accountability and justice for the Avila family.
