DWI Arrest After Driver Crashes Into Precinct 5 Patrol Car During Investigation

A driver was arrested for DWI after crashing into a Precinct 5 deputy’s patrol car while authorities were investigating an earlier crash on the West Sam Houston Tollway.

Deputies with Constable Terry Allbritton’s Office were at the scene in the southbound lanes of the 9900 block of West Sam Houston Tollway South at Bissonnet when the crash occurred. While two inside lanes were blocked for the investigation, a white Jeep rear-ended a Precinct 5 patrol unit.

The deputy was not inside the vehicle at the time of the crash, and no deputies were injured. The driver of the Jeep claimed no injuries but displayed signs of intoxication and was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.

Constable Allbritton reminded the public of the dangers of impaired driving, urging individuals to plan ahead and use alternative transportation to avoid putting lives at risk.
