Driver Killed After Vehicle Collides with Tractor-Trailer on West Mount Houston Road

On Saturday, August 16, 2025, at approximately 5:21 a.m., deputies responded to a fatal crash in the 1800 block of West Mount Houston Road.

According to investigators, Xavier Lamone Clinton was operating a 2019 Freightliner truck tractor hauling a 2017 Wabash trailer in the number two westbound lane and was stopped at the intersection for a red light. At the same time, Reginald Dewayne Crouch was driving a 2013 black Chevrolet Tahoe in the number three westbound lane when he failed to drive in a single lane and struck the back right corner of the trailer with the front left corner of his vehicle.

Emergency Medical Services requested Life Flight, and fire crews worked to extricate Crouch, who had been pinned inside the vehicle. Despite CPR efforts after extraction, Crouch was pronounced deceased at 7:01 a.m. by HCEC medic 901 due to his injuries.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is continuing its investigation into the crash.
