Driver Dies After Crashing into Parked UPS Truck in the Magnolia Gardens Area

A Ford F-150 pickup truck driver was killed Friday evening, June 20, 2025, after his vehicle struck the rear of a legally parked UPS delivery truck in the 13600 block of Chrisman Road. The deceased driver has been identified as Pascual Adrian Martinez-Rodriguez.
The collision occurred at approximately 5:48 PM. The UPS delivery truck was reportedly parked in the northbound lane with its emergency flashers activated, in a legal passing zone. Preliminary findings suggest Rodriguez, traveling northbound, failed to safely pass to the left and collided with the rear of the UPS vehicle.
Fortunately, the UPS driver had exited his truck and was nearby when he heard the approaching pickup, allowing him to move out of the way just before the impact. The UPS vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the collision.
Witnesses reported the F-150 appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed, and the damage observed at the scene indicates that speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash. The UPS employee remained on scene and fully cooperated with investigators, who observed no signs of impairment.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
