Driver Attempts to Evade Deputies During Traffic Stop in Cypress

On January 26, 2024, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 14900 block of Telge Road in Cypress. The driver, later identified as 21-year-old Cameron Mendez-Torres, refused to stop and attempted to evade the Deputy by speeding away. Following a brief pursuit, multiple units successfully forced the vehicle to stop.

Upon inspection, it was discovered that Mendez-Torres was currently out on a $30,000 bond for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, which may have been the motivation behind his attempt to flee. Subsequently, Mendez-Torres was arrested and taken into custody. He has been booked into the Harris County Jail on the existing warrant and faces an additional charge of Evading in a Motor Vehicle.

As of now, bond and court information for Mendez-Torres have not been determined.
