DPS Seizes $400,000 Worth of Cocaine in Webb County Traffic Stop

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized more than a dozen bundles totaling 15 kilograms of cocaine during a traffic stop in Laredo, Webb County. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is nearly $400,000.

The traffic stop occurred on Thursday, May 8, 2025, around 9:00 a.m., when DPS personnel stopped a red Chevrolet pickup. During the stop, the Trooper noticed indicators of criminal activity, leading to a further investigation.

Assisted by a K-9 unit from the Laredo Police Department, a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, resulting in the discovery of the cocaine.

The male driver of the pickup was immediately taken into custody and charged with delivery or manufacture of a controlled substance.
