Double Shooting Claims Life of Mother and Daughter in Northwest Harris County
In a harrowing series of events, two women, a mother, and her daughter fell victim to separate fatal shootings in northwest Harris County.
The first incident unfolded at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday night when deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s office responded to a shooting report on the 9000 block of Wortham Boulevard. The victim, identified as a 66-year-old woman, was discovered on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds and other signs of trauma.
A witness reported hearing gunshots around 9:30 p.m. and subsequently contacted 911 an hour later upon finding the woman laying on the ground.
Tragedy struck again just before 3 a.m. on Thursday when deputies were summoned to a residence on the 11500 block of Deep Meadow Drive. Inside the house, they discovered the lifeless body of a 42-year-old woman who had been shot and killed. A 12-year-old girl was found unharmed in the home. Investigators believe that the victim in this second shooting is the mother of the 12-year-old girl, while the initial victim on Wortham Boulevard is the girl’s grandmother.
Compounding the tragedy, authorities reported that the 12-year-old girl disclosed a sexual assault during the investigation.
Law enforcement apprehended a 25-year-old man at the scene, revealing that he is related to the victims. He was found with a knife and gun.
