Dickinson Man Convicted of Aggravated Kidnapping and Assault Receives 30-Year Sentence

Myles Humphrey, a 46-year-old from Dickinson, was convicted on March 4, 2024, for felony offenses including Aggravated Kidnapping and Assault Interference with Breath/Circulation of a Family Member. Humphrey, who pled guilty, received a 30-year sentence.

The conviction stemmed from an incident on August 20, 2022, around midnight, when La Marque Police Department responded to a violent assault at a hotel on the 5200 block of Gulf Freeway in La Marque. The victim, a female, had been assaulted by Humphrey. Detective Shores from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) handled the investigation.

The Galveston County District Attorney’s Office and Assistant District Attorney Whitney Rasberry were acknowledged for their dedication to pursuing justice in the case. Detective Shores was also recognized for her professional handling of the investigation. The community was urged to keep the victim in their prayers for her ongoing recovery.
