Deputies Recover 11 Stolen Vehicles, Arrest Two After Chase and Property Search in NW Harris County

A traffic stop that turned into a short pursuit led Harris County constables to recover 11 stolen vehicles and trailers and arrest two people this week, authorities said.
On January 8, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle near the intersection of Mueschke Road and Jergen Road in Cypress, TX. The driver refused to pull over, prompting a brief pursuit. The vehicle was eventually stopped, but the driver bailed out and ran. Deputies set up a perimeter but were unable to locate the suspect at that time.

As deputies continued investigating, they learned the vehicle involved in the pursuit was stolen and was towing another stolen vehicle on a stolen trailer.
That discovery led deputies to a related location in the 11300 block of Boudreaux Road in Tomball, TX. There, investigators uncovered six additional stolen vehicles and two stolen trailers. The stolen property had been reported out of both Harris County and Montgomery County.
While searching the area, deputies found 46-year-old Justin Hurt, a convicted felon, inside one of the stolen trailers. He was found in possession of two firearms. Deputies also located 42-year-old Tiffany Smith inside one of the stolen vehicles.
Altogether, deputies recovered 11 stolen vehicles and trailers with an estimated value of about $187,000. The recovered property included a Polaris 570 ATV, two Ford F-150s, a Ford F-250, a Cadillac Escalade, a Chevrolet Camaro, a Plymouth, a Hyundai, and three trailers.

Hurt was arrested and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Smith was arrested and charged with Trespassing in a Motor Vehicle. Bond information for both had not been set as of the latest update.
Investigators have also identified the driver who fled during the original traffic stop as 34-year-old Justin Bowman. He is wanted on charges of Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. His bond has not yet been set out of the 183rd District Court.
“If you have any information as to his whereabouts, you are urged to contact our dispatch or your local law enforcement agency,” Constable Mark Herman said.
The investigation remains ongoing.
