Deputies Arrest Suspect Linked to Multiple Grocery Store Thefts in Houston and Humble

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Detectives with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man accused of committing multiple retail thefts at grocery stores across the Houston area, authorities said.

An investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Burglary and Theft Unit connected the suspect to several theft incidents in Houston and Humble involving more than $1,500 in stolen merchandise.

With assistance from the District 2 East Aldine Proactive Unit, deputies conducted surveillance and carried out a coordinated traffic stop Feb. 19, safely taking Michael Anthony Cordova, 57, into custody on an active felony warrant.

Cordova was booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with felony organized retail theft.

Officials said the Sheriff’s Office continues working with retail partners to address repeat theft offenses and protect local businesses.
