Cypress Man Accused of Cutting 72-Year-Old With Knife During Disturbance

CYPRESS, Texas – A 47-year-old man was arrested after authorities say he used a knife to injure a 72-year-old during a disturbance in Cypress.

Deputies with Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded Monday, Sept. 28, to the 13500 block of Spring Cypress Road following a report of a disturbance.

After investigating, deputies identified Corry Johnson as the suspect. Authorities said Johnson used a knife during the confrontation, causing a laceration to the 72-year-old victim.

The information released by the Constable’s Office did not identify the victim, describe the relationship between Johnson and the victim or provide details about what led to the confrontation. The extent of the victim’s injuries beyond the reported laceration was also not disclosed.

Deputies arrested Johnson and booked him into the Harris County Jail.

Johnson was charged with aggravated assault and injury to the elderly. His bond had not been set at the time authorities announced the arrest. The case was assigned to the 487th District Court.
