Adrian Navarro and Christian Rios

A convicted felon was arrested following a vehicle pursuit and gunfire incident on February 10, 2025, after deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office attempted a traffic stop in the 9400 block of Hollister Road.

The driver, later identified as 35-year-old Adrian Navarro, refused to stop, leading deputies on a brief pursuit. During the chase, deputies lost sight of the suspect vehicle but soon heard multiple gunshots nearby. They relocated the vehicle and resumed the pursuit.

Deputies were able to stop the vehicle, but Navarro ignored verbal commands. K9 “Tejas Briones” was deployed and successfully apprehended the suspect. Navarro later admitted to firing a gun during the incident.

The passenger, 18-year-old Christian Rios, was also taken into custody and was found to have two open warrants for evading in a motor vehicle and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. A search of the area led to the discovery of a loaded firearm in front of a nearby residence, located by K9 “Mattress Mack.”

Navarro was charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle and felon in possession of a firearm. His bond was set at $10,000 out of the 262nd District Court. Rios was booked for his outstanding felony warrants, with his bond yet to be determined out of the 482nd District Court.
