College Station Police Capture Suspect Fleeing Domestic Violence Scene at Pearl Apartments
College Station Police officers responded to a reported civil disturbance at 700 Dominik Dr, leading to the apprehension of a suspect involved in a distressing altercation.
A concerned resident initially contacted authorities, reporting screams and yelling emanating from a nearby apartment. Shortly thereafter, a distressed female made a 911 call, expressing fear for her life and mentioning the presence of a knife before abruptly disconnecting.
Upon arrival, College Station Police officers encountered 23-year-old Daylin Kessee of College Station exiting the apartment. Kessee, who was currently out on bond for a prior Assault-Family Violence charge involving the same victim, attempted to evade arrest by fleeing from the uniformed officers.
The College Station Police Department promptly deployed additional resources, including a K9 unit and a drone operator, to assist in the apprehension. Officers formed a perimeter around the area, and the drone successfully located Kessee inside the Pearl Apartments. Despite multiple attempts to elude capture, Kessee was tracked by the drone and K9 unit and was eventually taken into custody without further incident.
Kessee now faces charges of 2 counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Evading Arrest or Detention with Previous Conviction, and Violation of Certain Court Orders or Conditions of Bond in a Family Violence Case. His bond has been set at $200,000.
