Cedar Park Police Arrest Juveniles in Central Texas Smash-and-Grab Burglaries and Violent Crime Ring

CEDAR PARK, TX – The Cedar Park Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit (MCU) has arrested several juveniles linked to a string of violent and organized crimes across Central Texas, following a multi-agency investigation that uncovered a network involved in aggravated assaults, firearm thefts, vehicle thefts, and a wave of “smash-and-grab” burglaries.
The investigation began in early October after two Cedar Park businesses were hit in back-to-back burglaries where suspects used stolen vehicles to crash into storefronts and steal large amounts of merchandise. Detectives soon discovered connections to similar crimes in Austin, Pflugerville, and Williamson County.
Through surveillance, digital forensics, and social media monitoring, investigators identified several suspects posting images of stolen firearms, some modified with illegal machine gun conversion devices, and stolen goods.
On October 29, 2025, the Cedar Park Criminal Investigations Division, alongside the Central Texas Regional SWAT team, executed search warrants at the Booker T. Washington Apartment Complex in Austin. The operation led to multiple arrests, with 14 additional Directives to Apprehend issued for other juveniles involved in the crime ring.
“These are not petty offenders — these are armed, organized, and dangerous juveniles who have repeatedly shown a willingness to use violence,” said Major Crimes Section Lieutenant Justin Miller. “The exceptional work of our Major Crimes Unit prevented further harm to our community and beyond.”
So far, five juveniles and one adult have been charged:
- Juvenile 1: Burglary of a Building (x2), Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, Theft of a Firearm
- Juvenile 2: Burglary of a Building (x2), Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity
- Juvenile 3: Burglary of a Building (x2), Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity
- Juvenile 4: Burglary of a Building (x2), Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity
- Juvenile 5: Burglary of a Building, Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity
- Isiah Escobar: Possession of Stolen Property (State Jail Felony)
All but one of the juveniles have been taken into custody.
Cedar Park Police credited the success of this complex investigation to the partnership of the Austin Police Department, Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, AISD Police Department, and Central Texas Regional SWAT.
The case remains under active investigation, and additional arrests are expected.
