Brother Shoots and Kills Sibling in Carverdale Area; Case to Be Reviewed by Grand Jury
The fatal shooting of a 29-year-old man at 10015 Morocco Road in the Carverdale area around 1:20 a.m. on January 22 will be referred to a Harris County grand jury. The identity of the deceased is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Houston Police responded to a shooting call at the residence and found a man performing chest compressions on an unresponsive male, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The shooter, a 37-year-old male, was not injured. He told officers that he and the victim, his brother, had been involved in multiple disturbances and arguments in the days leading up to the incident. According to the shooter, the victim was attempting to force his way into a room occupied by two female family members and a child. In an effort to protect himself and the others, the shooter said he fired at his brother. No other individuals were injured.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office determined the case would be presented to a grand jury for further review.
