Brazos County Sheriff Identifies Man Killed in Highway 21 Shooting

BRYAN, TX – The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office has identified Bradley Marshall, 28, of Madison County, as the man who was killed in a shooting on Monday, August 4. The incident, which also left a customer with a non-life-threatening self-inflicted gunshot wound, occurred during an apparent attempted carjacking.

Deputies responded to a disturbance in the 9400 block of East Highway 21 at approximately 12:41 p.m. and found two individuals with gunshot wounds.

According to a preliminary investigation, Marshall approached a customer’s truck in the parking lot of a local business and attempted to open the door, which was occupied by the customer and his family. Marshall reportedly made statements indicating he was going to take the vehicle. A physical struggle between Marshall and the customer ensued. During the fight, the customer retrieved a firearm from his truck and fired multiple shots, striking and killing Marshall. The customer also sustained a non-life-threatening self-inflicted gunshot wound.

No employees of the business were involved, and authorities have stated that there is no ongoing threat to public safety. No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation is active and ongoing.
