Brazoria County Woman Indicted on 41 Counts of Animal Cruelty Faces Legal Consequence
In response to the conclusions of a comprehensive investigation, Cynthia Anne Manders is now confronting the legal consequences of her actions. The Brazoria County Grand Jury has indicted her on 41 counts of Class A Misdemeanor Cruelty to Livestock Animals, stemming from an incident that occurred on August 18, 2023.
On January 9, 2024, the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) executed arrest warrants at a dental office in Lake Jackson. Manders was taken into custody without incident and subsequently transported to the Brazoria County Detention Center for booking.
Facing a recommended bond of $125,000, Manders is now confronted with the potential penalties associated with each Class A Misdemeanor. These include fines of up to $4,000, imprisonment for a maximum of one year, or a combination of both. Texas Law additionally prohibits individuals convicted of animal cruelty from owning any type of animal for five years following their initial offense.
