Body of Missing Cedar Park Resident Shawn Joseph Found, Suspect Arrested

On Tuesday, October 17, 2023, Round Rock Detectives located the lifeless body of 30-year-old Shawn Joseph, who had been missing for nearly two weeks.

Joseph’s remains were discovered in a remote area of Milam County, casting a somber shadow over the investigation into his disappearance. It was determined that he had been shot and subsequently transported from the Walmart parking lot located at 4700 E. Palm Valley Blvd, where he was last seen on Thursday, October 5, 2023.

The incident began to unravel on Friday, October 6, 2023, when officers were called to the Walmart parking lot in response to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Soon after arriving at the scene, law enforcement identified the vehicle as belonging to the missing Cedar Park resident, Shawn Joseph.

Subsequent investigations by law enforcement agencies revealed that Joseph had been shot in the Walmart parking lot late on that fateful Thursday evening. After the shooting, the suspect responsible for the heinous act, Royce Loggins, aged 31, had transported Joseph from the scene.

Loggins was later arrested and charged with aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping in Haltom City. He was subsequently extradited back to Williamson County, where further charges against him are currently pending.
