Beaumont Police Shoot Individual Armed with Chainsaw

On Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 8:20 PM, Beaumont Police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 1800 block of Harriot. While officers were handling the disturbance, another individual approached from behind a residence armed with a chainsaw and advanced toward the officers.

In response to the threat, officers discharged their duty weapons, resulting in the individual’s death. Beaumont EMS arrived on the scene and pronounced the individual deceased. Both officers involved were unharmed.

The incident is under investigation by Beaumont Police Department Persons Detectives, Internal Affairs, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office, and the Texas Rangers. No further details are available as the investigation continues.
