BACLiff, TX — The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two Bacliff residents accused of luring a man to a home through the Nextdoor app and stabbing him during an aggravated robbery.

April Jones, 40, and Antonio Morones, 42, were taken into custody following the February 9, 2026, incident in the 4200 block of Fuqua Street.

Deputies responded to the residence after receiving a report of an aggravated robbery. When they arrived, they found a male victim suffering from an apparent stab wound. Authorities said the injury was non-life threatening.

According to investigators, the victim told deputies he met Jones online after responding to an advertisement on the Nextdoor app. After communicating for several days, he agreed to meet her at the Fuqua Street home.

Detectives say when the victim arrived, Morones allegedly ambushed him from inside a closet. During the attack, Morones produced a knife and stabbed the victim. The suspects then stole items from the victim and left the scene.

The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to conduct a follow-up investigation. Detectives determined the victim had been intentionally lured to the residence and that Jones and Morones conspired to assault and rob him.

Authorities later located both suspects and found them in possession of the victim’s reported belongings, along with additional fraudulent identifying documents.

The case was presented to the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office, which approved charges of Aggravated Robbery, with a $100,000 bond, and Fraudulent Use or Possession of Identifying Information under five items, with a $10,000 bond.

Jones and Morones are currently being held in the Galveston County Jail.
