Austin Police Seeks Public’s Help in Identifying Persons of Interest in Fatal Crash That Killed Active Duty Soldier
The Austin Police Department’s Vehicular Homicide Unit is reaching out to the public for assistance in identifying two individuals believed to have information related to a fatal crash.
On Sunday, October 8, 2023, at approximately 3:07 a.m., officers from the APD responded to a crash reported in the 2200 block of East 7th Street. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a female victim who had succumbed to her injuries. The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Migle Kungyte, an Active Duty Soldier.
As part of the ongoing investigation, APD Detectives uncovered video footage that reveals two persons of interest. Authorities believe that these individuals may possess crucial information regarding the tragic incident. Additionally, a vehicle possibly connected to the crash has been identified in the footage.
Person #1 is described as
- White or Hispanic Male
- Last seen wearing a white ball cap, light shirt, dark shorts, and white socks with white shoes
Person #2 described as:
- Hispanic or Black Male
- Last seen wearing a black jacket, grey shirt and blue jeans
The vehicle that may be involved is described as:
- 2018-2022 Toyota 4Runner Limited Edition
- White in color with black wheels
- Bike rack on the rear.
- No front plate, unknown rear license plate
