Austin Police Seeks Public Assistance in Identifying Suspects Involved in Aggravated Robberies and Assault
The Austin Police Department Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s help in identifying three suspects involved in two Aggravated Robberies and an Aggravated Assault that occurred on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at different locations.
The incidents took place at the following locations and times:
- 1:03 a.m. – 11135 North Interstate Highway 35 Service Road NB (Whataburger)
- 10:27 a.m. – 10014 North Lamar Boulevard (La Buena Market)
- 10:31 a.m. – 9600 block of North Interstate Highway 35 Service Road SB
During the robberies at Whataburger and La Buena Market, the suspects threatened store clerks at gunpoint, taking cash, cigarettes, and other unpaid merchandise. After the second robbery, the suspects fired at a vehicle on the highway. The suspects, described as Spanish speakers with foreign accents, fled the scenes in a black Honda Civic.

Suspect #1:
- Hispanic male
- Spanish speaking
- Approximately 25-35 years old
- Approximately 5’ 8” tall, heavy set (possibly 200 lbs.)
- Armed with a two-tone black and tan semiautomatic pistol
- Last seen wearing work boots, blue jeans, yellow Clyde Johnson Roofing work vest, orange shirt, and F-35 logo baseball cap
Suspect #2:
- Hispanic male
- Spanish speaking
- Approximately 25-35 years old
- Approximately 5’ 8” tall, heavy set (possibly 160 lbs.)
- Armed with a black shotgun
- Last seen wearing work boots, blue jeans, burnt orange hooded sweatshirt with white shoulders
Suspect #3:
- Hispanic male
- Spanish speaking
- Approximately 22-25 years old
- Approximately 5’ 6” tall, lean build (possibly 150 lbs.)
- Armed with a black semiautomatic rifle
- Last seen wearing black jacket, grey pants, gray shoes
Suspect Vehicle:
- 4-door Honda Civic
- Tinted windows
- Black in color with matching rims
- Older model
- Possibly bearing a Nevada or North Dakota license plate
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspects, vehicle, or incidents to contact APD’s Robbery Unit at 512-974-5092. Anonymous tips can be submitted through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program via austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.
