Austin Police Seek Public Help in Identifying Vehicle Involved in Fatal Hit-and-Run on E. MLK Blvd.
Austin Police Department (APD) Vehicular Homicide Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle involved in a fatal crash on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at approximately 9:32 p.m. in the 4600 block of E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
The crash involved two vehicles and a pedestrian who was crossing midblock when struck by a white SUV, followed by a second unknown vehicle. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the white SUV remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, but the driver of the second vehicle left without stopping or calling 9-1-1.
The vehicle that fled the scene is possibly a 2022 dark-colored Chevrolet Equinox.
