Austin Detectives Search for Shooting Suspect at Car Club Event That Left One Dead
On Sunday, May 14th, 2023, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a shooting near the intersection of Nash Hernandez Road and Comal Street. Officers at the scene were told that a victim was taken to a hospital with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Officers later discovered that a small car club event took place at the intersection of Comal Street and Dilly Street. During the event a verbal disturbance escalated into the shooting. The suspect, whose description is included in this release traveled in a gray, four-door vehicle described as a possible Hyundai Sonata or Elantra.
The suspect is described as:
- Male
- Hispanic
- Heavy set
- Dark complexion
- Black, bushy hair, styled in a bowl cut
The suspect vehicle is described as:
- Possibly a Hyundai Sonata or Elantra
- Four-door
- Dark gray
