Attempted Theft foiled at Pearland Lowes; Three Suspects Apprehended
An attempted theft at Lowes, located on 2741 Broadway in Pearland, Texas, was thwarted yesterday, March 5, 2024, around 2:20 PM. The incident involved suspects Quinton Harris and Treveon Wilson, both hailing from Houston, who tried to make off with approximately $7000 worth of drills.
Using bolt cutters, the duo forcibly broke the lock off the secured Dewalt Tool Section Cabinet, loading two carts with drills before attempting to leave without payment.
Their escape plans, however, were short-lived as they were intercepted by the Pearland Police Department Motorcycle Unit. Upon spotting the suspects entering a vehicle driven by Kashunte Johnson, also from Houston, a pursuit ensued, culminating behind the nearby Hobby Lobby at 2450 Pearland Parkway. The suspects fled on foot but were pursued by law enforcement.
Kashunte Johnson was swiftly apprehended, while a collaborative effort from various Pearland police units, including Patrol, Drone Team, K9 Units, Special Investigations Unit, Detectives, and Telecommunications Operators, led to the arrest of Quinton Harris and Treveon Wilson over the following three hours.
All three suspects are currently detained at the Pearland Jail, facing charges related to the attempted theft.
Chief Spires commended the efforts of the Pearland Police Department, stating, “This was some great police work by many officers and dispatchers from several different divisions. Superb communication and coordination. Thanks to all involved.”
