Arrest Made in September 2023 Houston Double Murder Case
The Houston Police Department has made an arrest in the double murder case that took place in September 2023. The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Rodney Lee Jackson, has been charged with capital murder in the 351st State District Court.
The incident occurred on September 4, 2023, around 5:25 pm, when Houston Police officers responded to a shooting call at the courtyard of an apartment complex located at 3825 Southlawn Street.
Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims, 23-year-old Antwon Jerome Alexander, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Houston Fire Department. The second victim, identified as 22-year-old Jalen Mann, was transported to a nearby hospital, where doctors later pronounced him deceased.
Initially, there was no known motive or suspect(s) in the case. However, through further investigation, Rodney Lee Jackson was identified as the suspect. On January 20, 2024, HPD patrol officers detained Jackson on an unrelated charge in the 4900 block of Ward Street. The arrest was conducted without incident, and a weapon was recovered from Jackson’s vehicle.
Following the detention, homicide detectives interviewed Jackson, and based on the information gathered, investigators reached out to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Subsequently, Jackson was charged for his role in the shooting and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center without incident.
