Arrest Made in North Houston May 2023 Murder

Charges have been filed in connection with the fatal shooting of Sean Connery Showers, 37, on May 29, 2023, at 900 Northwood Street. James Lewis Spencer III, 22, is facing a murder charge in the 179th State District Court.

Authorities responded to a report of an unresponsive male in a ditch at the mentioned address around 3:50 a.m. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced Mr. Showers dead at the scene, revealing he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Initial investigations revealed that Showers was walking along the road when an unidentified vehicle approached, and someone inside fired the fatal shots. At that time, there was no available suspect description.

Further probing led authorities to identify James Lewis Spencer III as the suspect. On January 31, officers from the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force apprehended Spencer without incident. Spencer has reportedly admitted to his involvement in the incident and has been booked into the Harris County Jail.
