Arrest Made in Fatal Shooting of Woman on Bay Area Boulevard

Houston Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman on Wednesday afternoon. Ruben Venavides, Jr., 39, faces charges of murder in the 182nd State District Court.

The victim, a 38-year-old woman, was found with gunshot wounds at an apartment complex on Bay Area Boulevard. Despite efforts from emergency responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Venavides was detained at the location and is believed to have been involved in an altercation with the victim that led to the shooting. He has been booked into the Harris County Jail following his arrest.

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
