Arrest Made in Connection to Fentanyl Overdose Death of Teen in Williamson County

On Thursday, March 21, 2024, Kreli Haynes was apprehended by US Marshals and the Cedar Park Police Department on a warrant issued by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Organized Crime Unit. The warrant, related to a case of Murder, stemmed from an incident that took place on Saturday, December 16th, 2023, in Leander, TX.

Deputies from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Organized Crime Unit responded to a call in the 2500 block of Socorro Bend regarding a suspected fentanyl overdose. Upon arrival, they found a 16-year-old male victim deceased at the scene.

Following an investigation, authorities gathered evidence linking Kreli Haynes to the sale of fentanyl. This evidence led to his arrest on Thursday, March 21, 2024. Additionally, Haynes faces additional charges including Man/Del PG1B 4-200g (fentanyl) and Unlawful Carry.
