Arrest Made at HEB Grocery Store as Man Conceals Juvenile Runaway in Suspicious Vehicle
On January 24, 2024, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at the HEB grocery store parking lot in the 28500 block of the Northwest Fwy. Upon arrival, they discovered two males asleep inside the vehicle.
Further investigation revealed that one of the individuals was a reported juvenile runaway. The adult male, identified as 20-year-old Jhan Carlos Reyes-Gil, was aware of the minor’s runaway status and had chosen to conceal him in the vehicle. The deputies successfully returned the juvenile to his family.
Reyes-Gil was subsequently arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. He faces charges of Harboring a Runaway, with a bond set at a “hefty” $100.00 out of County Court 3 by Judge Leslie R. Johnson.
