Adult Man Arrested in The Woodlands for Harboring Runaway Girl

THE WOODLANDS, TX — Detectives with Constable Mark Herman’s Special Victims Unit (SVU) and High Tech Crimes Unit (HTCU) arrested 31-year-old Ryan Southam after locating a missing juvenile girl believed to be in his company.

The investigation began after a runaway report was filed by Constable Herman’s Patrol Division. Detectives used legal tools and data analysis to track the missing girl and identify Southam’s residence in The Woodlands area.

Upon visiting the home, detectives located the missing juvenile and safely recovered her. Following an on-scene investigation, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office accepted a charge of Harboring a Runaway against Southam.

He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail with bond set at $10,000. Additional charges may be filed pending further investigation.

The juvenile was returned to her parents.

“Our office provides all available resources to protect the most vulnerable of our citizens, especially the children of this community,” stated Constable Mark Herman.
