On Sunday, February 9, 2025, at approximately 5:30 AM, Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Investigators responded to a murder investigation at 10770 Barely Lane, located near the Oak Grove apartment complex in northwest Harris County. Deputies had been called to the scene when two individuals in a vehicle, attempting to enter the complex, noticed a black male wearing all black, motionless in the street. Upon checking the individual, they discovered the victim had been shot multiple times. They immediately called 911 and remained at the scene.
EMS arrived and attempted to assist the victim, but he was declared dead at the scene and not transported to the hospital.
Despite efforts from Homicide Investigators and Crime Scene Deputies, the victim has not been identified, and there are no witnesses to the shooting. No calls were received reporting gunshots, and no one came forward to identify the deceased male.
The body was removed from the scene by the Medical Examiner’s Office, and an autopsy will be performed on Monday to confirm the cause and manner of death, with hopes of identifying the victim.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit at 713-274-9100 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
