On Thursday, February 6, 2025, a carjacking occurred in the 12300 block of Allington Dr. in northwest Houton. The victim was preparing to leave for work when a black male, later identified as 23-year-old Kelvon Jones, opened the front passenger door and demanded money. Believing Jones had a pistol concealed in his jacket pocket, the victim fled on foot. Jones then entered the victim’s red Honda Civic and drove away.
Later that morning, HCSO District 1 patrol units spotted the stolen vehicle being driven by Jones. When patrol units attempted a traffic stop, Jones refused to pull over, leading to a brief pursuit. The chase ended when Jones fled on foot, but he was quickly captured by patrol units.
HCSO Investigators responded to the scene and met with the victim, who identified Jones as the carjacker during a photo array. A charge of robbery was filed against Kelvon Jones, and he was booked into the Harris County Jail.
