Two Houston Teens Arrested for Attempted Auto Theft in Roman Forest

Two Houston men were arrested early this morning for Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, which later turned into an investigation for Attempted Auto Theft. Armondo Castellanos, 17, and Johnnie Penaloza, 18, were apprehended by the Roman Forest Police Department (RFPD) after a night shift officer intervened in what appeared to be an attempted auto theft.
The suspects were found with sophisticated tools commonly used in vehicle theft. Surveillance footage from Flock cameras played a crucial role in identifying the pair. The investigation has expanded with the assistance of the Montgomery County Auto Theft Task Force, as charges are expected to be upgraded.
Castellanos had been arrested recently on similar charges, and authorities suspect other individuals may be involved in a wider crime spree. The investigation is ongoing as of this report.
