Fatal Crash in Channelview Claims Life of Male Driver

On December 15, 2024, units from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, District 3, were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at 900 Becker Street, Channelview, Texas. Channelview Fire Department arrived at the scene ahead of law enforcement and discovered a single-vehicle crash with one occupant, who appeared to show no signs of life. Paramedics from Channelview Fire Department confirmed the male driver, Jose Montanez, was deceased on the scene.

Crash Investigators from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division took over the investigation. Preliminary findings indicated the driver failed to stay in a single lane, causing the vehicle to veer off the roadway and strike a concrete driveway culvert. Montanez, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered fatal injuries.

The incident remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.
