17-Year-Old Killed, Another Wounded in Central Southwest Houston Shooting; Suspect Steals Victim’s Car

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old male and the wounding of an 18-year-old male at 3403 Simsbrook Drive around 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in a parking lot at the location and discovered a 17-year-old male unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene. A second male, 18, was found with a gunshot wound and transported to a local hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

Investigators determined that an argument took place between a witness, who is a friend of the victims, and an unidentified suspect. During the altercation, the suspect fired at the two victims and fled the scene in a vehicle belonging to one of the victims. The stolen vehicle was recovered nearby, but the suspect had already fled the area.

Police have not released a description of the suspect.
